If there is one bowl of perfection, it is the donburi: fluffy rice topped with luxurious fish, meats, or vegetables depending on your selection, finished off with a delicious sprinkle of sauce. Everything pairs together harmoniously and leaves you hungry for more.
Eating donburi at PekoPeko TTDI is a delightfulexperience. The restaurant is a self-styled “cyberpunk- themed restaurant” that offers customers the opportunity to enjoy the real taste of Japan. The restaurant has a modern design with glass partition walls, which let in an abundance of natural light. The interior is furnished with stone solid surface tables and comfortable sofa chairs. If you prefer some fresh air and a great view, there are also tables available at the restaurant’s gorgeous veranda.
What makes the Donburi at PekoPeko TTDI special? Freshness. The Japanese chef has 20 years of experience with Japanese cuisine, and is incredibly particular with his ingredients. He sources ingredients only from Japan, and personally inspects and prepares all of them.
The results of his meticulous efforts are donburis that are fresh, flavorful, and mouthwatering. We highly recommend the chef’s special item, which is a dish made of fresh sea urchins, scallops, white Trevally(Shimaaji)and Japanese amberjack(Hamachi). We ordered the Chirashi Sashimi Don, Salmon Teriyaki Don and Tendon. The Chirashi Sashimi Don is rice topped with a generous assortment of sliced seafood including fresh prawns, octopus, tuna, salmon, yellowtail, salmon roe (ikura), and flying fish roe (tobiko). The freshness, texture, and taste of the ingredients is retained, which makes for a savory experience. Tendon, which is short for “Tempura Don”, is rice topped with tempura battered prawns and vegetables. Made-toorder, the golden fried batter is crispy yet light. The Salmon Teriyaki Don is rice topped with 2 pieces of grilled salmon and sprinkled with moderately sweet teriyaki sauce. The skin of the salmon is crispy while the meat is tender and flaky. Donburi is widely available in Japanese restaurants everywhere, but few offer an experience as unique as PekoPeko TTDI. Open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant offers an entirely different atmosphere to its visitors depending on the time of the day. At lunch, the restaurant is cozy and calming, best suited for a break from the stresses of daily life and having a relaxing meal. At night however, the restaurant changes its face – LED bulbs light up, transforming it into a fun and exciting drinking spot. For alcohol enthusiasts, PekoPeko TTDI boasts a large selection of sake unavailable anywhere else, as well as its signature Japas– a Japanese twist on the Italian Tapas – to go with your drinks. If you prefer something other than donburi and drinks, you’ll be happy to know that the restaurant also serves a variety of other foods including sushi, sashimi, and yakitori, all of them just as tasty and enticing as the donburi.
